New Brofile Zine and a trip to Canberra
Friday, June 27th, 2008Friday night at Mark’s place watching the hilarious and the horrendous on the world wide web we collated the first Brofile zine ‘Together Atlas’ - concept by Tristan Ceddia incorporating Dave Ladd, Mark Drew and myself.
The zine will be up in the books/zines section of the site real soon.
Then we drove through the cold towns including Goulburn to get the independent publishing fair in the countries capital.
We set up…
…And Up set
Was well worth the trip. Plus they paid us. Thanks to government funding in Canberra!
We hit the road again to take in some snaps of Canberra civic and wider.

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008Hereye Yearhe Performance
Sunday, June 22nd, 2008Two thirds of the creators of Hereye Yearhe came to perform a sound piece for a select crowd on Thursday.
Ben Barretto played a guitar (among other instruments) with a homemade whipping instrument run by a fan motor, just like the fan motors that ran the sculpture.
Steve played drums, and played them well.

They enlisted musician and bandmate of Steve’s (check Songs) Jeff Burch to help.
Jeff also runs The Spring Press, check it out here.

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008A-Mays-d
Friday, June 13th, 2008So,I finally got out to see Tugi and his studio at Mays and guy is an inspiration.
First thing I saw - vintage Pixie

Then Alaska’s every where.
I was digging there flyers.
Here’s the man himself showing us around the place he just bought on the end to create a gallery.
Tugi is a total inspiration. He puts all his own money into these projects and the lanes (that the government now want to preserve), he is a perfectionist master craftsman, tireless worker and great business man. A really important man and integral to the Sydney art anti-establishment and establishment. Where would almost all the top galleries get their frames without him!

He is also creating studios and sleeping areas for residencies.

More Alaska.
As we left we saw this. We were psyched!
It was be muttered by this fellow here.
Most beautiful.
Thanks DL.
Another Tuesday
Friday, June 13th, 2008I had to go to a meeting here this week.
Where I learnt that this here Maurizio Cattelan horse has unnaturally long legs from another horse applied to make it look ‘real’! Yes, art trivia!
I saw this view and thought “Oh, Sydney really is beautiful” I find it easy to forget.
Later in the day I threw some arrows with Mr Smith

At Sydney’s best pub
Some other people I know like it too.
Ain’t that right, Sammy.
‘Bout Time
Wednesday, June 11th, 2008Just saw this great thing about what the world eats at Time.com
Epic.
I like these guys. They look like they’d be real fun to eat with.

And these guys. Egyptians know what’s up.
But I really would rather go to these guys place.
All the fresh veges. No packaging, no processing. Totally the way I wish I could eat every day.
But on the other side of the spectrum in a less essential to life sort of way but also important -
Mr YSL R.I.P.
Thanks for the link Erin.
