Same Sex Laws T-Shirt Initiative

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Not that I ever signed up for any association with Natalie Bassingthwaite, but I did make some art for a T-Shirt last year through MCSaatchi.

In 2008, Australia achieved a human rights milestone with 85 reforms made to laws to remove discrimination faced by same sex couples. The Federal Government gave ACON, on behalf of the LGBT Health Alliance, the task of promoting this achievement across Australia.

My T is the purple one with Health across the front at 2.34 if you can handle watching that long.

Other Tees by Karl Maier, Matt Taylor, Luca Ionescu, Cody Hudson, Dan Funderburg, Siggi Eggertsson and others.

We had too many people at the opening last night to have the performance inside the gallery or in the courtyard. So impromptu street show.

BLOGS by Pals

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Ahhhh the internet.
Not as good as in real life aye?

I do like friends blogs.
Take Aaron Scott-Young. I really enjoy looking at his blog, I haven’t spoken to him for over 4 years but somehow I feel just a little connected to what he is up too.
It’s the same reason I started this blog, to let my friends I never see know what I am up to as may of them do, and it feels like a letter.

Aaron’s recent skate film run down of 2009.

When was the last decent full length narrative film about skateboarding produced?

I like the Outpost Store in Brisbane.

A rare Chance to buy a coveted work by Sarah Larnach and simultaneously raise Money for Victims in Haiti

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

I’m Sarah Larnach, and do all of the artwork for Ladyhawke. I was nominated for an A.R.I.A. for the Ladyhawke album artwork.
Excuse me for being blunt, but this is serious, and I am doing what I can to raise help.

My sister, Emily Sanson-Rejouis, her husband and 3 daughters (ages 5, 4 and 2) are in Haiti right now, and only Emily and the youngest child have been confirmed alive.
I am auctioning an original painting from the Ladyhawke album/singles for charity, to assist in Haiti.

This is the first time a piece of artwork from my Ladyhawke work has come up for sale, so its a rare opportunity to help, and to own something that would normally be difficult to get your hands on. Pip Brown and Sarah Larnach will also sign a copy of the single (Paris Is Burning) and album where it appears, as well as writing a personal letter of thanks to the buyer.

The artwork is a watercolour painting of two cats.

I’m auctioning the painting on eBay. The auction is on now.
